The eligibility criteria for online visa applications by nationals from Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam will be eased starting June 1, 2017. People who have been issued with an ROC visa (visas with remarks “FL” , “T”, “X” or “N” are excluded) or Alien Resident Certificate (purpose of residence can’t be “Foreign Labor”) over the last 10 years, and who have no record of violating ROC law, may apply for a multiple entry visa using the Online Application for ROC (Taiwan) Travel Authorization Certificate (https://niaspeedy.immigration.gov.tw/nia_southeast) run by the National Immigration Agency.
In addition, the visa exemption trial program for Philippine nationals has been postponed in order to complete relevant administrative procedures and inter-agency coordination, and the exact commencement date will be announced in September 2017.
